Subject  |    SDA LS Summer Bible Camp Meeting 08-08-07  |  Hit : 2059 Name  |    Jacobhong     2008 Summer Bible Camp Meeting was held from July 17-21 at the YangPyung, English Village. 1500 participants ,who are all teachers, pastors , AY members , and students gathered together at the English Village in the name of Jesus. There are several blessing we had. Blessing 1 – Pastor Mark Finley We were truly blessed to have Pastor Finley share the ever-enduring message of hope that we have in the cross of Jesus Christ. He made it safely back home, but let’s remember to keep the Finley family in our prayers. Ask that the Holy Spirit comforts the family during this challenging time. Blessing 2 – The Praise Team The praise sessions were well organized. They were a blend of modern praises, accented with action songs, and accompanied by time-honored favorites and hymns. At times, maybe the sound was a bit loud, but it was a good sound. If you were blessed, “Thumbs Up!” Blessing 3 – The Central Location of the Village English Village has a nice setup. Most of the activities happened in a scenic, central location. This made getting to meetings or the cafeteria easy, while still providing a place to enjoy nature (when it wasn’t raining), a street concert, or just a stream to cool your feet in. Blessing 4 – Shorter Lines to the Cafe Because of the space constraint at English Village, the planning directors had to figure out a way to rotate the space in the cafe. There was a traffic jam now and again, but compared to former camps, the waiting time was considerably shorter. Also, with the open-air street concert happening at the same time, the waiting was enjoyable. Blessing 5 – Shared Time with Students Our students don’t get to see us out of the classroom setting often. Camp provided a time for students and teachers to connect in a new way, opening the cultural doors both ways, and opening wider the doors for friendship evangelism Blessing 6 – Diligent Teachers This mission is dependent on the dedication of its members. At camp, it was easy to see schools that diligently prepared for this camp. Daegu Nambu, a 3 teacher school, brought 41 students. Bundang, a 6 teacher school, brought 75. 18 seminars were presented twice with numerous volunteer leaders and assisting teachers. The success of camp depends on the efforts of the teachers. Blessing 7 – Well, actually, 135 blessings 135 people have openly showed the world their willingness to follow God’s calling in their lives though baptism. While working together with God, it is always a blessing to see brothers and sisters (re)committing their lives to Christ publicly
